Artificial turf installation replaces natural grass with synthetic turf laid over a compacted, graded base, so the yard stays green and level without mowing or watering.
KC Outdoor is based at 18013 Gander Terrace in ZIP 34211, one of the four Lakewood Ranch ZIP codes, so Lakewood Ranch installs are close to home.
Lakewood Ranch is a master-planned community with neighborhood homeowners associations, so a turf project here usually starts with your association’s architectural guidelines.
Manatee and Sarasota Counties
Lakewood Ranch Crosses Two Counties
Lakewood Ranch covers about 23,000 acres across southeastern Manatee County and northeastern Sarasota County, with five community development districts inside the Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District. Which county your home sits in matters less for turf than it used to. Since May 19, 2026, Florida Rule 62-308.100, adopted under section 125.572 of the Florida Statutes, bars counties and cities from prohibiting synthetic turf on single-family lots of one acre or less when the install meets the state standards. The state rule does not cover HOA covenants, so a neighborhood association’s guidelines still apply.
Water is the other local factor. During the 2026 drought, the Southwest Florida Water Management District limited lawn watering in both Manatee and Sarasota counties to one day a week. A turf yard needs no irrigation, so it stays green on any watering schedule.
How the install goes
6 Steps to a Turf Yard in Lakewood Ranch
A turf install in Lakewood Ranch follows the same steps as every project on our artificial turf installation page, starting with the base.
Measure the yard for a free estimate
We look at the size of the area, how water moves across it, access for equipment, and any sprinklers in the way.
Remove the existing grass
Sod and the soil under it come out so the finished turf can sit level with pavers, edging, and doorways.
Set the grade and handle irrigation
The ground is shaped so water runs away from the house, and sprinkler heads inside the turf area are dealt with.
Build and compact the base
A base of crushed stone goes in and is compacted into a firm, level surface that drains.
Lay and secure the turf
Turf is cut to the yard, seamed, and fastened along the edges so it stays flat.
Infill and brush
Infill is spread into the turf and the fibers are brushed up so the lawn looks and feels finished.
Pricing
What Turf Costs in Lakewood Ranch
Every turf project is priced for the specific project. These are the things that move the number:
- Square footage of the area
- The turf you choose
- Base work: how much grass and soil come out, and whether the yard needs regrading or drainage
- Access: fenced side yards, pool cages, and slopes add handling time
- Edges and cut-ins around pavers, trees, and curved borders

Florida’s 2026 synthetic turf rule limits what counties and cities can require, but it does not cover HOA covenants or architectural guidelines. If your association reviews yard changes, ask us for the turf product details to include with your request.
